There are quite a few pink flowering plants that you can grow in your garden for summer colour, but not as many pink evergreen plants. We have a few here that we grow that might be of interest, all of which are easy to grow, tolerant of conditions, evergreen and winter hardy. Perfect for your UK garden.

Armeria maritima Pink Sea Thrift

Thrift flowers vary from white ‘alba’ through to pinks, lilac and purple colours throughout the spring and summer.

The Thrift plant is a hardy evergreen and resembles a cross between a clump of grass and chives. They can be seen growing along the coast in the UK and due to their pink flowers are often referred to as Sea Pinks.

This is a great little clump forming groundcover plant that requires little in the way of maintenance. Great for rockeries, is drought tolerant and enjoys a sunny position.

Phlox subulata ‘Candy Stripe’

Candy Stripe is my favourite creeping Phlox (P. subulata) due to the masses of pink and white striped flowers. Will grow in shade and sun and will creep over wall edges. A very cold hardy evergreen perennial.

Pieris japonica ‘Pink Delight’

Pieris japonica, this variety Pink Delight is an evergreen that flowers in early spring (mid march in 2014) and is planted close to other acid lovers and a small pine whose needles will provide a source of acid.

Lonicera henryi ‘Copper Beauty’

There are not many evergreen climbers that are hardy in the UK but Lonicera henryi ‘Copper Beauty’ is one such Honeysuckle that also has stunning 2 tone yellow and pinky copper coloured flowers in summer.
