Description
Canna indica ‘Purpurea’ Indian Shot. A very tall species canna growing to 2m or more with bronze-brown foliage which is slender and pointed and fairly upright rather than sideways. The small flowers are orangey-red and held up well above the foliage. This is one of the first cannas I ever grew at the Exotic Garden in Norwich and up until the recent cold winters a large clump had survived a fifteen year stretch in the garden with only a light mulch!
We have an article here about How to over winter your Canna plants in the UK.
